I’ve been looking and researching irons for a while now. As a crocheter it’s important to me that it have several features – steam burst, and steam in both horizontal and vertical positions. And I was hoping for a retractable cord and auto shut-off safety features.
Finally, I found the iron of my dreams! The Panasonic NI-E650TR Steam/Dry Iron with U-Shape Titanium Coated Soleplate – it’s got everything I’ve been looking for AND anti-calcium features, at a great price (and it has tons of fantastic reviews)! Now that I’ve branched out into more than just basic scarves and hat, including the 2015 CAL, I’ve never blocked my work. Is that what this iron would be used for vs. dunking in water? Any and all help is much appreciated.

An iron would be used when you can’t dunk the item in water, or when you want to do a more permanent blocking. It’s a fine line between blocking and melting if it’s acrylic though!
