Reminiscent of medieval tapestry themes, this wonderfully inventive crochet pattern has angels, a griffon, a heart and a deer, a warrior, a queen and a dancer, and more. Originally designed as a tablecloth by Emma Boardman in 1922, you can crochet these blocks for other uses such as pillow tops and panels. Includes patterns for 13 filet crochet squares of various sizes, 2 triangle, and one scalloped edging. This pattern includes instructions for the small needle-woven lace blocks and the border in netting, but they have not been edited. Embroidery patterns are not included. This is not your usual scanned vintage crochet pattern. Written instructions are in modern crochet terms! The only stitches you need to know to complete this lace are: chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, and slip stitch.
