This yarn has a pretty great origin story. It started when Jimmy Beans Wool visited fair trade mills in Peru and noticed something: high-quality leftover wool and alpaca tops were piling up, headed for landfills. Instead of letting that happen, they rescued those leftovers and turned them into Yarn Citizen, closing the gap between quality yarn and affordable pricing.
Harmony Worsted is 50% wool and 50% alpaca, sourced from animals born and bred in the highlands of Peru. It’s not superwash treated, which reduces water waste during processing. The blend is soft, warm, and works up nicely at a worsted weight.
Each 100g hank has 211 yards, so it’s perfect for accessories, garments, or whatever you’re planning. The Sand colorway is a warm, earthy neutral with a heathered finish.
This yarn is priced consciously because Yarn Citizen believes sustainability shouldn’t break your budget. You get good fiber, ethical sourcing, and a price that makes sense.
